Seamless LCD Display

August 28th 2006 13:27

The Radius 320 LCD screen in actuality is three 20.1” LCDs side by side. The only difference between one that some of you have at home is that it does not have the bezels and spaces between LCD panels. The only catch is that you need 3 DVI connections on your PC, so SLI enabled PCs will have to un-SLI their configuration if they want to use more than 2 monitors. No word of pricing yet, but if places like Bulkbuy does a deal on these, it would be great for us Australian buyers.

Clean Your C: Drive

August 19th 2006 10:01
Most people neglect to clean up their C drive. You might have a whopping 200GB of HDD space but it is still good practice to clean up the junk that windows leaves behind. Cleaning up your C Drive will not only free up space, but will also make indexing faster (search functions) and perform slightly better.

The first step is to use the “Disk Cleanup” utility that Windows XP has. To do this:

Keep Your Desktop Uncluttered

August 17th 2006 00:47
Desktop filled with shortcuts of programs you use frequently? If you have more than 2 rows of icons on your desktop, you probably would find that sometimes it’s hard for you to find what you want to click on. Heres a simple way to manage your desktop space better; use custom toolbars.

The first step is to create a folder (I named mine “Program Shortcuts”) and dump all your shortcuts from the desktop to the folder. The next step is to right click on your taskbar and unlock it (if that has not been done). Then right click on it again and select “Toolbars – New Toolbar”. You will now see a new window which allows you to pick a folder. Select the folder that you created with all your shortcuts in and click on “OK”. You will then notice a new “toolbar” on the right hand side of your taskbar. You can now drag this toolbar (just click on the new toolbar and drag it) to anywhere on your desktop. You can even dock it on the sides of your desktop which I have done.

If you have been using your PC for a whole now, your keyboard probably has dirt trapped in between (and maybe underneath too) the keys. Instead of going out to your local Officeworks to get those keyboard cleaner kits for around 20 bucks, go get yourself some Tac It/Blu Tack from your local stationary shop. Then take a small chunk of it (about the size of a peanut), flatten it and swipe it between the keys. This will take longer than the kits you buy but by golly does it work. Heck I use Tac It/Blu Tack to clean my mouse, PDA and even my cordless phones.

Protect Your Gadgets

August 3rd 2006 03:10
Just got a new iPod and afraid to use it because it would get scratched? Tried those silicon case protectors for your Treo 650 but find it a bit “sticky” to take out of your pocket? Well I came across a really good solution that caters for most gadgets out there, even laptops. It’s called The InvisibleSHIELD. Its sort of like a screen protector, but for your whole device. What’s unique about it you ask? Well it claims to be really strong and scratchproof, as demonstrated in some video clips on their website. They also offer a lifetime replacement guarantee where if your InvisibleSHIELD gets scratched, they will replace it for free. Also if you need to send your gadget for warranty purposes, just take off your InvisibleSHIELD, mail it back to them and they will send you another one. Only downside is that it can get pretty expensive and the free shipping option for international orders do not offer a tracking service. But the next gadget I get (hopefully one of the new Treos) will be protected by InvisibleSHIELD.
