MSN Plus Live

September 24th 2006 18:12
Ever had someone else with you who wanted to log on to MSN Live messenger on your PC only to find out that you can only have 1 instance of MSN Live Messenger (which will be referred to as MSNM for short from this point onwards) running? The other option was to use Windows Messenger, which, in comparison to MSNM, is quite limited in functions. Well all you have to do is download MSN Plus Live. This addon allows you to have multiple instances of MSNM and more!

If you’re an ardent Firefox user (or any tab-enabled browser), you would appreciate the tabbed-chats feature you can enable with MSN Plus Live. A host of other features I like to use include personalized statuses (which allows you to have statuses like “sleeping” instead of “away”), notifications for other email accounts (which are POP compatible) and event logging. There are a lot of other features available, but I’ll leave you to discover them. The only thing you should watch out for is that it has an option to install a sponsor program, but that part is very clearly outlined and shown on the screen, as to ensure users do not accidentally install the sponsor.

Nintendo Wii Pricing in Australia Finally!

September 16th 2006 04:26

Well it’s been officially announced. Pricing in Australia would be AUD399.95, which sadly is about AUD70 more than the US price. On the upside, it’s cheaper than the Euro price (Euro 249) by about AUD20. So there you have it, on December 7th, be sure to queue up at your local Wii-selling store to pick one up (unless you have it preordered of course, but I reckon you’d still want to queue up for it)

All you have to do is get down to a store like Officeworks and purchase a copy for $99 and redeem cash back (all $99 of it) from this page. Just be sure to do it before the deadline of 16 October 2006.

Almost every Windows XP user out there would have some background applications running, be it antivirus software or internet chat applications. And if your PC is relatively old, you would notice your PC getting more and more sluggish when you install new applications or update older ones. Now wouldn’t it be useful if there was a rough guide to say what applications cause the most system delay? It would greatly help users understand more about how to speed up their PCs either by choosing different alternative applications or by uninstalling applications that is not needed anymore. Having said that, the graph gives a rough guide to system hogging applications.

Cyber Snipa Dog Tag: Uber Cool USB Drive

September 5th 2006 19:39

OK this has got to be one of the coolest USB drives I have ever seen: The Cyber Snipa Dog Tag. It comes it sizes from 128MB up to 1GB (unfortunately), and is shaped like an army dog tag. Apart from being a cool looking USB drive, it also comes with a handy LED light, cap opener with a screwdriver, and a small set of pliers. Stop wearing those geeky looking USB drives and get one of these Dog Tags today. And if you’re in the Bulkbuy community, express your interest in them here.

Constantly downloading torrents but don’t want to leave your PC on 24/7? Always having trouble transferring your torrents or files to other friends on your network? Well one of the best and coolest wireless routers is here in Australia to solve your problems. The Asus WL-700gE. With an in built 160GB HDD, you can share your files on the network, download files from the internet, and even setup FTP so that your files are accessible from the internet (it does come with security features of course). It also supports native bittorrent downloads, whereby you can download up to 7 streams of torrents. It does use the basic Bittorrent client, so no fancy features that u can get from ABC or Bit Tornado. Thus hardcore torrent downloaders would find it easier to do it via a PC, but on the plus side it does allow you to save electricity by shutting down your PC, and the FTP function still is really useful.
