Asus WL-700gE Router-NAS-FTP/Bittorrent Server... and More

Constantly downloading torrents but don’t want to leave your PC on 24/7? Always having trouble transferring your torrents or files to other friends on your network? Well one of the best and coolest wireless routers is here in Australia to solve your problems. The Asus WL-700gE. With an in built 160GB HDD, you can share your files on the network, download files from the internet, and even setup FTP so that your files are accessible from the internet (it does come with security features of course). It also supports native bittorrent downloads, whereby you can download up to 7 streams of torrents. It does use the basic Bittorrent client, so no fancy features that u can get from ABC or Bit Tornado. Thus hardcore torrent downloaders would find it easier to do it via a PC, but on the plus side it does allow you to save electricity by shutting down your PC, and the FTP function still is really useful.
It also features 2 USB ports to share additional content via a USB drive or external USB HDD. You can also use the port to share supported printers and webcams. There is also a function where you can stream AV to your TV with a DMA (Digital Media Adapter), although the Asus website did not have much information on this. But if they happen to be relatively inexpensive, or an optional accessory you can get, it would kick a$$.
As a WiFi router, Asus claims that it increases signal coverage by 200%, so in the real world it would most probably extend your current WiFi signals by about 75-100%. All in all, The WL-700gE is not a router, network storage or AV server, its ALL of them. But with a price tag of around AUD400 , it should do all of that, and hopfully additional functions and features wil be added via firmware upgrades in the near future.
