Help Save The Environment

If you use technology as much as I do, you will usually think about how much energy you use during a day (as well as the electricity bills you run). One good way to cut down on electricity consumption is to install solar panels. Up until recently, the government has been offering rebates on panels, but have decided to phase that out mid of next year. Therefore, Channel 7 has an online petition to prevent this from happening, and i strongly encourage everyone to sign on to the petition here. Help keep our world cool!

How does solar energy actually work and why aren't we using it more often?

Well, basically solar panels which contain photovoltaic cells convert sunlight to electricity. I'm not sure how these lenses convert the energy, but a google on it should explain the scientifics better. Also why aren't we using it more often? Well for one it can be quite costly to purchase the solar panels and i guess not many people want to spend so much just to save a couple of bucks every month. Same goes to products like recycled paper etc. However, in the long run, solar panels could save heaps on electricity bills and help save energy
