IE7 Released
October 20th 2006 03:26
While Firefox 2 is still in its RC stage, Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 7. For people who have been following the preview of IE7, you can get the final version here.
For those of you new to IE7, it finally supports tabbed browsing and has a search box (which both features have been in Firefox for a long, long time now). It also sports a new UI with a minimalistic approach which jives in with Windows Vista. One of the most notable features that I noticed and liked however is the very much improved printing, which actually WORKS! You can now adjust margins, and actually fir the final printed page. I tried printing a couple of websites on my Samsung ML1210 and despite the lack of color, it looked good. There are probably features that I have not covered here, so download it or check out more info here. Bottom line is although I'm an avid Firefox supporter, I must say that Microsoft has come a long way and I find myself using IE7 a little more than I was before this final release (still as my secondary browser, as Firefox has certain features that IE7 still lacks)
